cool new scam

I just got notification in email that my Northern Trust bank account's 'Certificate of Authority' certifier had changed, and that I needed to click a link to reset it.

If you get this, and you click the link, and need help to reset your Northern Trust's 'trusted authority' my rate for accommodating this behavior is $300/hr.  I suspect it may be a few hours.

Family and/or doesn't get a *free lunch* on this one, I'm afraid, either.  It would be cheaper to just buy an iMac if you click the link.

If you buy the iMac, the 'fix' is free, BTW (go into your cert manager and delete the invalid cert).

Of course, the Mac would require that you type your administrative password, and warn you heartily before 'fixing' this 'problem' in the first place.
