ΚΑΤΑ ΙΩΑΝΝΗΝ 1
(The Gospel of John, 1:1-5)
1εν αρχη ην ο λογος και ο λογος ην προς τον θεον και θεος ην ο λογος2ουτος ην εν αρχη προς τον θεον
In the beginning was the understanding, and the understanding was god, and the understanding was of god.
3παντα δι αυτου εγενετο και χωρις αυτου εγενετο ουδε εν ο γεγονεν
It was always this way from the beginning, and apart from this, nothing was created.
4εν αυτω ζωη ην και η ζωη ην το φως των ανθρωπων
In the understanding was life, and in life, the understanding that is light to men.
5και το φως εν τη σκοτια φαινει και η σκοτια αυτο ου κατελαβεν
And this light shines in the void, but nothing itself is incapable of comprehension.
