The recent Israeli attacks on Gaza which have taken the lives of over 300 Palestinians and wounded approximately 1,400 has drawn a response from Congressman and ex presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.

Said Kucinich: Today I sent a letter to Secretary General Ban ki-Moon urging the United Nations to establish an independent inquiry of Israel's war against Gaza.

Kucinich believes the attacks are in violation of article 33 of the Geneva convention, which forbids collective punishment. Kucinich said that perpetrators of attacks on both sides should be brought to justice, but that "Israel cannot create a war against an entire people in order to attempt to bring to justice the few who are responsible."
