Ukiah Rocks (heh)

So, I was actually searching for Flash Video artists in the Ukiah area, but I've gotten off track, both in  downloading and listening to the Doobie Brothers' song, and in being distracted by this website:

I really can't fathom the 'mayberryness' of this place.  They not only look, sound and act like some kind of weird bumpkin sect, but their *dreams* of the future seek more of the same.

It really is freaky talking to them.  Utter disconnection for the most part.  I'm fascinated by their desires, but in the way that someone is fascinated with 'reality tv'.

The best part is the utter obliviousness that most of them have had to the disconnect.  When they wax poetic about the rural life and ask me to chime in the chorus and I offer a minored, diminished, or outright dissonant note, and they take it as if I'd agreed wholeheartedly.

This is by far the weirdest space I've been in yet.
