Just to make it easier. Here's the obvious tally of the dead since the problems began with the Second Intifada (well, westerners since then, the local dead news are fresh dead):
Palestinians:
257 children dead (but they were all *bad*, right?)
According to the UN Office for the Coodrination of Humanitarian Affairs and the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 257 children have died so far with an increase of 250 percent since the ground operation began. Children constitute 56 percent of the Gazan population. Overall deaths have reached 758 with more than 3,000 injured.

Israelis:
Well, there are ten dead soldiers at this point, but four of them were definitely killed by IDF (friendly fire). One was killed by a 'Hamas' anti-tank missile, but given that these items tend to come more in 'packs', the fact that one, but ONLY one of these missiles seems to have been in the possession of Hamas makes it look like ANOTHER Israeli subterfuge, just like that staged raid on Entebbe. I might reconsider this opinion if Hamas uses another twenty-three of them or so.
Western Peacekeepers/Journalists:
Dead

- James Miller (filmmaker) - British film-maker shot and killed in Gaza, May 2, 2003.
- Rachel Corrie - American ISM volunteer killed by Israeli bulldozer in Gaza, March 16, 2003.
- Brian Avery - American ISM volunteer shot and severely disfigured in Jenin, April 5, 2003.
I point this out because of what Billy Bragg says below:
