My Parlay With Andres

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
I've been posting Andres commentaries from time to time on the blog (mostly on the old one).

I don't really forward a lot of the stuff simply because it's a little too detailed for light reading.

But he's been on since the R&R days.  In fact, that's how I found that R&R had been hacked yesterday (looking for his old stuff).  There was a point that he got 'automated' on R&R (and he started sending mail to that 'special' address I'd made for him).

When I moved, that system simply fell apart.   I started getting two emails from him on *almost* every topic.  I started noticing that occasionally, I'd only get one.  I asked, and he's not sending it any differently.

Now, TSNO (this should never occur) is well beyond the pale here.  Email is a well written product, given thirty years.  It lets you know if mail is 'undeliverable'.  The TCP in TCP/IP is all about the certainty of a conversation.  It defines whether a conversation occurred w/o error.

TSNO.

But it does, regularly.  Here's some snippets of what got clipped and only sent to 'half' of me.

Subject: Larijani: Obama no different than Bush

Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has warned against any new adventurism being pursued by the US and Israel in the Middle East region.

"It is naive to think that with the transition of power from George W. Bush to Barack Obama the situation will change," he said

Larijani stated that the US' strategy is to increase the economic pressures on Iran, Mehr news agency reported.

A UN expert says the International Criminal Court should prosecute Israeli leaders over the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement on Tuesday, Richard Falk, the UN expert on human rights in the Palestinian territories said Israel's policies against people living in the Gaza Strip amounted to a "crime against humanity."

The statement said the international court should "determine whether the Israeli civilian leaders and military commanders responsible for the Gaza siege should be indicted and prosecuted for violations of international criminal law."

Falk said Israel was only allowing into Gaza small amounts of food and fuel in quantities enough to "stave off mass famine and disease."

Israel's national intelligence agency Mossad has been behind a failed coup in Turkey, the Turkish daily newspaper, Milliyet reports.

A secret investigation into detained Ergenekon group members and other studies outside Turkey indicate that Mossad orchestrated the coup plot against the Turkish government, the report says.

Romero's Folly: NY Times Reporter Calls Chavez's Landslide Electoral Victory a "Stinging Defeat"

Imagine if elections for all 50 state governors in the United States were held on a single election day and 74 percent of those seats (or 37 out of 50 governorships) went to one political party's candidates. Imagine also that the victorious party's candidates had won 52.5 percent of all votes to just 41 percent for the opposition (the technical definition of an electoral landslide is a victory of ten percentage points or more).

If a New York Times reporter - or any reporter - then wrote the story of the election results and called it a "stinging defeat" for the victorious party, wouldn't he be laughed off of his beat?

Former Cuban president Fidel Castro says al-Qaeda terrorists have been engineered in order to advance the Bush administration's agenda.

In an essay published on Sunday, Castro said the terrorist group "was born from the empire's own entrails", using the term "empire" to refer to the United States.
