Not much else in life is as entertaining as artificial intelligence (makes the real thing look *so* good in comparison).
I mean, people can be stupid, and even obtuse, but it takes a computer to be completely w/o hope of getting a clue.
For example, the new iTunes 9 product has some *amazing* features (which work for the most part rather well). In this case, it's the 'Genius Mixes' feature that amused me. It made a dozen 'mixes' based on my musical taste.
All tolled, there were five rock mixes, and one each of R&B, Alternative/Punk, Country, Classical, Spoken, Soundtrack, and 'Holiday'.
Now, 'Holiday' is something I attend to pretty well (got a playlist with all the xmas tunes, and another with only secular holiday tunes).
'Genius' reported this as it's rationale: 'Based on Frank Sinatra, Dionne Warwick, The Bobs, and Others'.
However, it's picking of songs from these artists (all of whom I've got xmas music by) isn't done by artist, so when the Genius picked Frank Sinatra's "High Hopes" as the first song, followed it with The Bobs' version of "Psycho Killer" and went into a cut from "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street", I knew I had to comment on this amazing 'intellect'.
