Always have a 'con' aspect to them.
Now, one would have to be an idiot to think that the 'big' conspiracy going on, when the small one explains it.
For example, one *could* conclude that the major media companies, reporting on ACORN, are telling the truth, and the rest of the world is trying to help them 'cover up' their 'fraud'.
Or, one could take the easy path that points to the sell-outs in the media not even bothering to *READ* the ACORN statements. It's not hard, but it's hard to read them and then give voice to any of their detractors.
I should mention too, that I'm a former ACORN volunteer (in Dallas, Austin, and Albuquerque), and that their work organizing the 'little people' has always been terribly important (which is *exactly* why they are under attack).
In another thread, on another topic, on a discussion not here, I pointed out that in the 'old days' (before non-violence became fashionable) there was a proscribed method for dealing with those who 'Bore False Witness' (and it involved a great many rocks).
If we don't get a non-violent equivalent to this behavior, we are going to *continue* to suffer these liars' in our midst FOREVER.
Anyway, that said, here's some links to a *FINE* group of people doing *IMPORTANT* work for *YOU* (even if you don't know it). And of course, in Dallas, listen to KNON, and in Austin and Albuquerque, watch the Community Access TV station.
Many of you have seen the "news stories" that originated on Fox about ACORN employees captured on videotape advising people posing as a prostitute and a pimp on how to complete federal tax forms and secure a mortgage.
